I’m Michael Astorga — a Southern California wedding, portrait, and lifestyle photographer documenting people in a way that feels honest, timeless, and full of life. I’m based in Southern California, but I photograph weddings and sessions throughout California, across the U.S., and wherever the story takes me.

For over a decade, I’ve had the privilege of capturing weddings, engagements, maternity sessions, and the beautifully unscripted moments in between. My work blends clean, cinematic imagery with natural documentary moments — the kind of photos that feel just as meaningful years from now as they do today.

I’m drawn to connection more than perfection. The subtle glance across a room, the way someone reaches for your hand without thinking, the laughter that can’t be staged, the calm in the middle of chaos — those are the moments that matter most to me. I’ll always guide when needed, but I believe the best photographs happen when you feel comfortable enough to simply be yourselves.

Outside of photography, life looks a little different these days in the best way. My girlfriend, Natasha, and I are raising our daughter, Penelope, who has completely changed our world and somehow made time move faster and slower at the same time. Our dog, Captain, keeps things interesting and makes sure no quiet moment lasts too long.

Before photography became my full-time path, I spent six and a half years serving in the U.S. Navy — an experience that shaped my discipline, adaptability, and appreciation for meaningful moments.

When I’m not photographing or editing, I’m usually with family, chasing golden light, geeking out over camera gear, or finding inspiration in everyday life.
